In this, the 'About' section, you will find some basic information about Parramatta and about the site, particularly its search functions. You will also find information about the Visitor Information Centre; a great resource for first time visitors to the city.
A full list of key contacts including translation services is available, and a very brief introduction to Parramatta's history. (Of course, the best way to find out about the city's history, is to call into the Heritage Centre, talk to the Visitor Centre staff and head off to some of the heritage properties located in and around the city or visiting http://arc.parracity.nsw.gov.au/.)

FILMING IN PARRAMATTA
Parramatta is increasingly becoming a popular location to film. The City offers a bustling café and restaurant scene, modern high-rise buildings, iconic river and infrastructure, historic homes and versatile green open spaces, all located within easy reach of Sydney.
In recent times, Parramatta has been the location of great Australian films including The Combination, Cedar Boys, Casualty, Big Trouble and Little Fish and has been the prime filming location of the ABC’s newest series Crownies – an intriguing drama about lawyers working for the Public Prosecution.
Parramatta City Council is enthusiastically implementing the NSW Government’s film-friendly policies designed to cut through red tape and make approval processes easier, faster and more streamlined than ever before.
Council has a film officer to answer questions and help with approval processes and enquiries.
