What is the most widely eaten fish in the world? Is Disneyland a Coke or Pepsi Park? How old is the Universe? Which planet spins the fastest? What’s the official name for a peanut? Which band sang 'The only way is up?'? If you sort-of-almost-didn’t-come-close to answering some of these questions, then chances are you’re going to love our list of the best venues to head to for a great night of trivia in Parramatta. Game on!

PJ’s Parramatta

There’s often some stiff competition, but that shouldn’t put you off Wednesday night Trivia with Chippa at PJs Parramatta, starting from 7.30pm. Offering hearty traditional pub fare in a traditional bar with fireplace and weekend DJs, PJs has institution status for good reason. The menu has the usual fare but with a touch of PJ’s style - think Chilly Dog, garlic shrimp, chilli, ham and chorizo pizza, and PJ Parra Rocky Road Sundae. Take it easy with the $4 local beers from 4:00pm – 6:00pm if you still want to flex your fun-facts muscles.

Albion Hotel

Kicking off at 7:30pm, Tuesdays at the Albion is all about Trivia. Register from 7:00pm to be a part of the action and get your hand on some tops prizes. They have a great meal deal on Tuesdays– a 250-gram rump steak with sides for just $19 – making it a great place to put your trivia brain to the test. This enduring 1860's pub with polished timber floors and a sprawling beer garden, just has everything you need from a pub experience. The vibe is chilled, the bistro serves good portions for decent prices, and there are loads of daily specials to choose from. Leave your smartphone in your pocket – no cheaters allowed!

Parra Leagues

Do you know the name of every Nicole Kidman film, in alphabetical order? Can you name the sea creatures who hold hands when they sleep, so they don’t drift apart? Put all those far out facts you’ve stored in there to good use, and head down to the Parra Leagues Trivia on Thursdays, in the Bistro. They have $260 in cash and prizes up for grabs, plus food and beverage points for winning members. Check-in for trivia starts at 5.30pm for a 7:30pm start – this place can fill up so be sure to arrive early and check in at the Bistro before you play. This newly renovated menu offers a good range of standard pub fare.

Commercial Hotel

This is one of the only places this side of Sydney with fresh beer tanks, and it’s a darn spot to settle in and have a crack. Every Thursday from 7:00pm, the Commerical Hotel’s trivia quiz covers all the ground from Bob Hawke to Harry Potter. This beautifully renovated venue has a massive three-level beer garden and a great restaurant where the antipasto plate and the baby squid are local favourites. They also offer $5.20 drinks during Happy Hour Monday to Friday, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, but take it easy to ensure you stay in top trivia form.

Parramatta RSL

Turbo Trivia is on Tuesdays from 7:00pm, hosted by Drag queen host Portia Turbo. This is super fun, rude and crude, and always a good time with some decent take home prizes and pretty easy questions if we don’t mind saying. Their Cantonese and Malaysian style menu has good, fresh, yummy fare if you’re a bit over the traditional pub grub.
