100% West Presents: 5 Diverse Designers from Western Sydney
Five emerging Western Sydney labels will premier their unique street wear collections at 100% West, a fashion show featuring the latest trends in sustainable fashion. Community-based contemporary arts organisation Information + Cultural Exchange (I.C.E.) Parramatta is partnering with creative incubator opnsrc.co to produce 100% West, a celebration of Western Sydney’s roots in street fashion and sports brands, and the symbiotic relationship between fashion, style and music in Western Sydney.
The exclusive runway show, aimed at providing a platform for new creative fashion brands in Sydney’s West, will be held at I.C.E.’s Parramatta premises and streamed across Australia on Saturday 21 November. 100% West will be a multisensory experience; the designers will be matched with Western Sydney musicians and the venue transformed by floral artist, Kodi Graham’s installations. This exclusive event gives guests a first look at designs and an opportunity to purchase before the garments hit the shelves.
Contextualised in Western Sydney’s diverse communities, each designer’s line explores contemporary issues and themes including identity, class and ethical consumerism. The show will challenge perceptions of the fashion industry and exclusively feature sustainable designs crafted from ethically sourced recycled materials.
The show can be streamed from 7pm AEDT Saturday 21 November at https://ice.org.au/project/100-west/. A donation is required the view the show to help raise money to support the development of future creative projects in Sydney’s west.
