The Sandstone buildings and walls that stand along the river were once quarried from the land beneath them.
Story of the local First Nations people is still here today; it can be felt in the walls and the halls of the institutions and beneath the culverts and streets of Parramatta.
Come and join us as we listen to the history and stories of the Stolen Generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the Parramatta Female Factory. There will also be opportunity to take part in our traditional smoking ceremony, as well as view performances throughout the day.
Sorry Day will be held in partnership with The Parramatta Female Factory and Institutions Precinct. Catering will be provided.
