HMAS Parramatta Free of Entry Parade and Exhibition
An opportunity for our community to honour the men and women of the Royal Australian Navy and our City’s namesake, HMAS Parramatta.
10:30am - 11:15am: City of Parramatta Band performs on Lennox Bridge, Church Street.
11:15am - 12pm: Hills Community Concert Band performs on Lennox Bridge, Church Street.
12pm - 12:30pm: HMAS Parramatta Freedom of Entry Parade commences at Prince Alfred Square, including the ‘Challenge’ on Lennox Bridge, continues down Church Street and concludes at Parramatta Town Hall.
A collection of stories and items will be on display at Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre, paying respect to the long history and important relationship between City of Parramatta and HMAS Parramatta.
HMAS Parramatta Exhibition
Explore the history of Parramatta’s special connection with HMAS Parramatta. See the 1961 brass bell, inscribed with the names of babies born to crew members, discover the history of the HMAS Parramatta I including the Memorial at Queen’s Wharf Reserve, as well as the history of HMAS Parramatta II, III and IV
