Flickerfest is excited to be bringing its National Tour back to the Riverside Theatre Parramatta for one night only Best Of Australian Shorts - Saturday 6 April 2019.
The Best Of Australian Shorts programme screens on Saturday 6th April at 6.45pm. Highlights include Aussie comedian Paul McDermott’s Ghostbear, a beautifully animated film straight from Paul's heart, Ghostbear tackles the disappearing animals of our planet and tells the story of a polar bear cub wandering the arctic in search of his place in the world, and his birthplace in the stars.
Gracie Otto’s Desert Dash tells a fantasy story on the outskirts of Australia where opals are now the currency for survival in the game of Desert Dash. When a feisty heroine gets the opportunity to ‘level up’ there is no choice but to win. Game On!
Dramatic and haunting the Australian film All These Creatures, was the winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 2018 and awarded Best Editing in an Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2019. ‘An adolescent boy attempts to untangle his memories of a mysterious infestation the unraveling of his father and the little creatures inside us all’. Australian acting legend Jack Thompson stars in the moving drama Home.
The Flickerfest Parramatta programme also features the delightful romantic comedy The Snip by Parramatta local Ben Mizzi. The Snip had its Australian premiere at Flickerfest Bondi earlier this year. This delightful romantic comedy ‘gets to the meat and potatoes of family pressure to have kids, and one man’s unique solution to overcome the problem once and for all’. Director Ben Mizzi will be present at the screening to introduce his film.
