River City Voices is Parramatta's very own symphonic choir established in 2018 to give local audiences access to large-scale choral experiences closer to home. On 5 May, River City Voices will be presenting its inaugural performance of Carl Orff's popular blockbuster, Carmina Burana.
What's not to love about listening to 100 voices sing the spine-tingling well known opening chorus "O Fortuna" in all its dramatic glory!
This exciting performance under the baton of renowned conductor Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith, represents the culmination of a fun and inspiring "Come & Sing" weekend rehearsal workshop where River City Voices singers combine forces with over 50 passionate community singers and the Senior Chorale from Parramatta's Our Lady of Mercy College.
Carmina Burana features acclaimed soloists, Turkish-Australian soprano Ayşe Göknur Shanal, baritone Simon Lobelson (Opera Australia) and much-loved tenor Warren Fisher accompanied by a thrilling percussion ensemble.
This is history in the making and we welcome you to join us!
