Take a walk down either Church Street or Charles Street in the Parramatta CBD on any given weekday and you’ll be sure to bump into a line of city workers queuing for their lunch at Destination Roll.
Don’t be put off by the queue (it moves quickly), Destination Roll is a cult classic and firm favourite among locals and visitors alike. The speciality here is of course Vietnamese banh mi; a crusty French baguette spread generously with pate and mayonnaise and filled precariously to the brim with warm meat off the grill (think pork, BBQ pork or chicken), salad options like cucumber, carrot, radish and coriander and maybe even a crunchy chunk of pork crackling.
One of a series of stores spread across Sydney, the store is hole-in-the-wall style dining to go. And you’ll certainly leave satisfied. Staff are the epitome of efficient here, masterfully constructing delicious rolls in a flash. You can't go wrong with such amazing ratings.
With about $6.00 in your hand you can get a hefty lunch that will fend off the 3.00pm munchies, so grab your roll and head back to Centenary Square to soak up the sunshine.
