- The Veronicas
The Veronicas hail from Australia, yet their impact has been felt around the globe.
Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, twin girls born on Christmas Day, were teenagers when moved to LA, signed a record deal with Sire Records and released their first album, The Secret Life Of… and three top ten singles including the timeless anthem 4EVER.
A single and second album followed, called me HOOK ME UP. The single became The Veronicas first number one, followed by the iconic UNTOUCHED.
After leaving Sire and signing with Sony, The Veronicas surprised their fans in 2014 by releasing a piano driven ballad, YOU RUIN ME. A brave departure from their normal sound, YOU RUIN ME rewarded The Veronicas with their second Australian number one single, and was top five in the UK.
With over 16 singles in the top 10- The Veronicas spectacular 15 year career speaks for itself: Solidified as Australian Icons, the first Australian artists ever to score a platinum record for downloads in the US (over 1 million records sold for 2007’s “Untouched”); nine top 10 hits in Australia including three #1s; 500 million-plus streams, 2 ARIA awards, and over 175 million youtube/VEVO views.
2020 saw the return of KINGSWOOD, the Melbourne favourites delivering a career-defining, critically acclaimed third studio album in Juveniles. The album, signalling a new era for the band, landed at #13 on the ARIA Albums Chart and reintroduced KINGSWOOD to fans and newcomers alike; their love for unabashed rock and roll channelled through some of their most cohesive and well-rounded songwriting to date.
“Fusing the sprinklings of Queen’s rock bravado in with the leather-clad swagged out rock of Queens of The Stone Age, and you’ve got a rough image of where Kingswood sit in this new chapter of theirs.”
