Enjoy 15 hours of non-stop entertainment for the whole family from dawn until dusk. Featuring a hot-air balloon display, classic vehicles, kids activities, live entertainment featuring headline act 'British India'*, delicious food, amusement rides and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

* Please note: due to illness, ‘Sheppard’ will no longer be headlining the Australia Day Parramatta evening concert, however hit indie rock group ‘British India’ (4x ARIA Top 10 Albums) have stepped in to deliver an exciting concert, supported by Triple J Unearthed Winner ‘Asta’ and X Factor’s ‘Jess & Matt’.

Get a taste of the action



9am – 3pm

Start your day marveling at the skies as we launch Sydney’s biggest hot air balloon display with delicious food and roving family entertainment from Circular Keys to Up, up & Away and Roo’d. Proudly supported by PARKROYAL Parramatta.

From headline act 'British India'* and Triple J Unearthed winner 'Asta' to kids entertainers Bananas in Pyjamas, enjoy a great line-up of live entertainment across 3 different stages. Discover the full entertainment line-up at Australia Day Parramatta here



9am – 3pm

Don't miss this annual showcase of more than 300 classic vehicles including cars, motorbikes, fire engines, trucks, coaches and vintage speedway cars. Talk to the experts and get an inside look into the world of classic restoration as this eclectic collection of vehicles returns to Parramatta Park, a former racing circuit. Visit the dedicated car club tents where you can learn all about vehicle history and engineering from car club members.

"Circusworks Playground"



Enjoy a wide range of roving performers and live entertainment in the CircusWorks Playground. Get in on the action with an interactive circus workshop and try your hand at juggling, twirling, hula-hoops, walking beams and more.

"mURRAY gARDENS cOOK uP Australia Day"



Revel in mouth-watering food offerings from an impressive line-up of food vendors who serve flame-grilled delights. From Filipino Fire Pops and Middle Eastern Halal Skewers to Aussie and American BBQ, enjoy it all against a backdrop of live blues and roots music.

"Amusement Rides"


10am – 9pm 

We know how to deliver on carnival fun! Don’t miss a sideshow alley, great selection of amusement rides and delicious snacks in this entertaining area, catered to people of all ages.

10am – 4pm 

Kick back, grab a deckchair and relax under the shade at the Old Government House courtyard as DJs and live musicians spin music late into the afternoon.

Old Government House, 10:30am – 5pm 

From arts and crafts to several hands-on activities like mask and jewellery making and mural painting, there are plenty of workshops available to keep the kids (and yourself) entertained throughout the day.


Parramatta Heritage Rides will be running 3 free one-hour rides showcasing a sample of Parramatta's heritage, including St John Cemetary and the Indigenous river pathway. They'll depart near the Tudor Gates at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Book in at parramattaheritagerides.net


Experience a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Dairy Cottage Precinct in Parramatta Park, one of Australia's oldest colonial sites, between 10am - 2pm. Built in 1796, the precinct provided milk, butter and cheese to the colony's first governors. Tours operate hourly via gold coin donation. 


Enjoy a tour of Australia's oldest public building set in the time of Governor Macquarie between 10am - 4pm, followed by a sausage sizzle and cold drink, kindly provided by the Friends of Old Government House. Entry by gold coin donation. With thanks to the National Trust of Australia (NSW) at Old Government House.  


Write a message of thanks and support to our firefighters at the 'Thank a Firey' stall and donate money to the Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) during the event. Money raised will go towards purchasing much-needed equipment for fire stations across NSW.    


Whether you’re looking for something naughty or nice, Australia Day Parramatta has got you covered. From an impressive line-up of food vendors who cook with fire (think flame-grilled delights), to kombucha and other healthy and fresh foods, there’s something to curb every hunger pang.


Kicking off with a traditional Welcome Ceremony at 8am, witness local residents take their pledge to become Australia's newest citizens, with National Anthem by Circular Keys chorus.

Please note: we have decided not to proceed with the fireworks display at our upcoming Australia Day event due to continuing concerns about the threat of bushfires, and as a mark of solidarity with the many communities affected by the fires across the country.
