Overlooking the Parramatta River is the Parramatta Heritage & Visitor Information Centre. Hosts & Guides provide visitor information on all things to see and do in the Parramatta region. Our friendly Hosts & Guides also roam the city’s CBD and provide a meet and greet service at the ferry wharf. They will engage and excite you about all things to see and do in Parramatta.
It is also the home of Parramatta Council’s archives, local studies resources and cultural collections. Our Research Services team provides research assistance and resources both physical and on-line that tell the story of Parramatta’s rich indigenous, colonial and multi-cultural heritage. For those arriving by ferry, head west after alighting at the ferry wharf and take the 10 minute Riverwalk up to Lennox Bridge. Pick up a map that links into the city's pedestrian signage system and go exploring! The wayfinding system is marked by bright yellow signs and these are located across the city. They will help you find your way to all the major attractions and experiences on offer.
For those arriving by train, head north along Church St through Centenary Square, “Eat Street”, Parramatta’s dining precinct, and we are right next to Lennox Bridge and opposite Riverside Theatres.
The Centre is open seven days a week (except for Good Friday and Christmas Day) and is located at 346a Church St Parramatta (next to Lennox Bridge) and Parramatta’s dining precinct.
